Evening Lantern at Dock 9
Juno Pike came through Dock 9 just before sunset carrying a lantern she swore was "only decorative," which is exactly what someone says when the lantern contains a clue. Three mechanics stopped talking the second she crossed the gangway, and by the time I reached the square the rumor had already outrun her by two blocks.
At Blue Circuit Tea, Mara pretended she wasn't listening while polishing cups that were already clean, then asked whether I'd heard anything about a stamped silver crate no one will claim in daylight. She said it with that calm smile that means she knows a lot more than she's billing for, and I'm not proud of how quickly I ordered a second cup.
If you're missing a parcel and you suddenly remember it belongs to you, you can leave a note under the clocktower bench wrapped in blue thread. If you're lying, don't waste my time; Neon Harbor forgives many things, but boring stories are not on the list.
